Care after Combat would like to express a big thank you to Dawn O'Donnell who bravely faced a sky dive in memory of her daughter Sophie.
Sophie was just 25 years old when she died on 18th January 2021. As an online sales rep for Ann Summers she had decided she wanted to pass her earnings on to a charity. She had chosen to support Care After Combat, as this was something that Sophie could personally identify with. She never got the chance to do anything to raise money. Following her death, Dawn made the courageous decision to carry out a sponsored tandem skydive to fulfil Sophie's wish of supporting the charity.
On Sophie's 26th birthday, 22nd August 2021, Dawn nervously boarded the plane and carried out her first jump, followed by a family gathering to celebrate Sophie's life. Dawn's efforts raised over £1800 for the charity.
Dawn enjoyed the experience so much that she is planning on going back to complete the 15,000ft jump.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dawn for taking on this challenge.
