We are thrilled to share some remarkable news with our community!
Moawia Bin-Sufyan, our dedicated Regional Coordinator for Wales, has been recognised for his outstanding contributions and has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards: the Community Award and the Volunteer of the Year Award, at the 2024 Welsh Veterans Awards.
What Are the Veterans Awards?
The Veterans Awards seek to recognise and celebrate the veterans, serving reservists, volunteer organisations, and companies that have gone the extra mile to bring about positive change in their communities.
The various individuals who have been shortlisted are people who make an effort to better the lives of those in their community and who, despite the struggles and sacrifices they may have faced, have continued to serve and give back to those around them.
These awards are not just about acknowledging individual achievements but also celebrating the spirit of giving back and community support that veterans embody. All of the money raised above project costs is invested back into veteran communities, used to improve services for veterans or run projects that will ultimately better the lives of everyone in the community.
The Categories Moawia Has Been Shortlisted For
The Community Award
The Community Award recognises individuals who have significantly contributed to and acted as role models within their local communities. Those shortlisted for this award have made an effort to promote social change, often by raising money for charity, working with local schools, colleges, and other charitable groups to raise awareness about the lives and needs of vulnerable people, and spreading positive messages from and about veteran communities.
Volunteer of the Year Award
Volunteering is at the heart of what we do, and the Volunteer of the Year Award highlights veterans who go above and beyond in their service. This award recognizes those who have gone above and beyond in their volunteer efforts, making a meaningful impact on other veterans, performers, clubs, events, or the broader community.
