Civvy 2 Commando
Care after Combat is dedicated to providing unwavering support to former British Armed Forces personnel in the justice system and their families. Our mission is to ensure that veterans receive the care, guidance and respect that they deserve.
Many veterans face significant challenges when reintegrating into civilian life, especially if they become involved with the justice system. The transition can be incredibly difficult, leading to issues such as mental health problems, lack of support and social isolation.
At Care after Combat, we ensure that issues are addressed head-on through personalised mentorship and comprehensive support services.
Civvy 2 Commando Challenge for Care after Combat
Stuart is a Volunteer Mentor (VM) with Care After Combat. As well as supporting veterans in the justice system as a volunteer alongside our coordinators, he is taking on the ultimate challenge to raise funds and awareness for the Veterans the charity supports. The challenge is known as the ‘30 Miler Commando Test’ – the final Commando test which Royal Marines must pass in order to earn the coveted green beret that proves recruits’ capability to overcome adversity by demonstrating the ‘commando state of mind’.
Stuart is embarking on the 30 Miler Commando Test to help raise funds and awareness for Care after Combat which will assist Veterans in the justice system. He is being trained and supported by Royal Marines Veterans from Civvy 2 Commando – an organisation that coaches those wishing to join the Armed Forces.
Meet Stuart and the challenge team of current and former Royal Marines at the reception as they prepare to undertake the 30 Miler on 13th November.
