Unlock the Life-Changing Opportunity to Support Military Veterans

Veterans encountering the justice system often have complex needs that can be directly linked to their military service.

Factors such as housing, employment, substance misuse and relationships can significantly affect their behaviour. Additionally, a lack of trust in the system and society is prevalent among these veterans.

At Care after Combat, we believe in the power of support and rehabilitation. Our Volunteer Mentors are a critical resource, providing invaluable assistance to veterans in need.

By working closely with our service users, Volunteer Mentors help break damaging, recurring behaviours and guide them through their journey to what will hopefully be a crime-free life.

Why Volunteer with Care after Combat?

 Become a Guiding Light

Volunteer Mentors engage with veterans up to 12 months prior to their release, developing a relationship based on trust and addressing individual needs to prepare them for reintegration into the community.

This journey is centred around renewing their purpose, self-esteem and responsibility for shaping their future.

Continuous Support

Mentors continue working with veterans through the prison gate and up to 12 months post-release or until the individual is confident and their needs are met.

Throughout this process, Mentors collaborate with other services to provide comprehensive support.

Make a Difference

The role of a Volunteer Mentor is challenging but immensely rewarding. The dedication and perseverance of both the Mentor and the service user often lead to dramatic and life-changing results.

The significant reduction in reoffending rates among veterans mentored by Care after Combat is a testament to the effectiveness of our program.
