It is with great pleasure that Care after Combat’s Board of Trustees announces the appointment of Dr Jane Jones as the charity’s next Chief Executive Officer.

Jane has been involved with Care after Combat since its inception in 2014 and has been Clinical & Research Lead since January 2021.  Having designed, informed, and delivered several of the charity’s veteran support services, and with a wealth of experience in veteran offender healthcare, Jane is extremely well placed to take up the position of CEO of Care after Combat.

Chair of Trustees, David Rogers, said:

“Following a comprehensive and highly competitive interview process I am delighted that Jane was successful and is our new CEO. Her unique knowledge and insight around veteran offenders, their needs, and current national gaps in this service will help the charity move forward in the future.

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to Adrian Kirk our current CEO. Under his leadership, the charity has grown and now has a footprint across England and Wales whilst being financially stable in what is a challenging financial position for most charities”

Dr Jane Jones shared:

“Over the past few years, I have had the immense privilege to lead the Veteran Care through Custody service which is a bespoke service for veterans delivered by Nottinghamshire Offender Healthcare in partnership with Care after Combat. Care after Combat is a charity that has gained significant credibility through innovation, inclusion, dedication, and dynamic collaboration. It is deservedly recognised as a leading service provider supporting UK military veterans, who for a variety of reasons including military-related trauma and complex vulnerabilities have become involved with the justice system.”

“It is, therefore, an honour to be given this opportunity. I am truly looking forward to working with the Care after Combat team, together building on the outstanding work and incredible gains so far achieved, supporting veterans throughout the UK.”

Jane will assume the position of CEO with effect from 21 March 2025.
