Home 9 News 9 Care after Combat Celebrates Receiving the King’s Award for Voluntary Service

This month has been especially monumental for Care after Combat. On the 17th of April, we hosted an event that celebrated the charity receiving the King’s Award for Voluntary Service. Lord Lieutenant Veronica Pickering of Nottinghamshire, presented the crystal and award certificate.

It cannot be overemphasised how much of an honour it has been to be nominated for this award. A total of 262 local charities, groups, and social enterprises received this same award, and we’d like to offer our congratulations to every one of these organisations. It has been incredible to see the efforts of so many people working to make a difference recognised and celebrated in this manner.

We extend our sincerest thanks once more to every person who has worked with or alongside us over the years, whether volunteer, trustee, or ambassador. As a result of your combined efforts, we have been able to offer our support to some of the most vulnerable veterans, and awareness of our cause has spread across the UK.

We can guarantee that this will not be where Care after Combat slows down. While this award has been a reminder of how much we have managed to achieve, it is also a reminder of how crucial it is that we keep reaching out to our veterans in the Justice System who require support, guidance, or simply somebody willing to listen. Spirits are high, and we can truly say we are excited to see how Care after Combat will continue to grow in the future.
