We are delighted to announce that Care after Combat has been awarded a grant for Project Phoenix in Wales from the Veterans’ Foundation, helping us continue our crucial work supporting veterans in the justice system.
About the Veterans’ Foundation
Since 2016, the Veterans’ Foundation has been a cornerstone of support for the UK’s armed forces community. As one of the country’s leading military charities, they’ve raised over £23 million and awarded 1,100 grants to more than 450 organisations that deliver life-changing projects across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Their support extends across many areas of veteran need, from mental and physical health support to homelessness prevention, unemployment assistance, family support, education, training, and remembrance initiatives. This comprehensive approach ensures that veterans receive support in all aspects of their lives.
Supporting Veterans Through the Veterans’ Lottery
The Veterans’ Lottery is the lifeblood of the Veterans’ Foundation’s work. For £10 per month, players have the chance to win a £75,000 jackpot while supporting vital veteran services across the UK. This sustainable funding model allows the Foundation to continue its support of organisations like Care after Combat.
The Foundation also maintains a Memorial Wall, allowing friends and family to honour their heroes, and accepts legacy gifts and donations as part of their commitment to supporting the veteran community.
Making a Difference Together
This grant will help us continue providing essential support across Wales to veterans in the justice system through our flagship Project Phoenix program. From peer mentorship to rehabilitation assistance and family support services, we’re working to ensure every veteran gets the support they need to rebuild their life.
The Impact of This Support
The Veterans’ Foundation’s support enables organisations like Care after Combat to reach more veterans in need, expand vital support services, and develop new programs. Their funding creates a sustainable, long-term impact that helps veterans rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society.
