This November, Care after Combat marked its milestone 10th anniversary with a special celebration at The White Hart Hotel in Lincoln on November 22nd, 2024.
Since its formation in 2014, Care after Combat has helped over 2,400 veterans, delivering life-changing and often life-saving support to former service personnel.
The evening brought together staff, volunteers, supporters, and friends of the charity to celebrate this decade of work supporting veterans in the justice system and working with these veterans to build brighter lives and communities.
This served as a powerful reminder of the community that has formed around Care after Combat’s mission – a network of dedicated individuals and organisations working together to ensure no veteran faces their challenges alone. We’d like to say a massive thank you to all who have supported our cause over the years. It is thanks to that support that we have been able to achieve all that we have.
The celebration featured both a raffle and auction, with proceeds supporting the charity’s continued operations. Among the auction items was bottle number one of Care after Combat’s special 10th anniversary commemorative rum. Created in partnership with G.H.Q. Spirits, this limited edition cask-aged Caribbean rum represents a unique piece of the charity’s history, with only 250 numbered bottles produced.
The commemorative rum, now available for public purchase at £45 per bottle, continues to support the charity’s mission, with £10 from every sale being donated to Care after Combat.
As Care after Combat reflects on our first decade, the anniversary also serves to reinforce our commitment to our purpose. The challenges faced by veterans in the justice system remain significant, and the need for specialist support continues to grow. This milestone celebration represents not just a look back at past achievements but a renewed dedication to the work that lies ahead.
So, as Care after Combat moves into its second decade, our charity remains committed to its mission of providing support to former service personnel in the justice system. We look forward to being a positive part of the journeys of so many more veterans over the coming years.
