What Is Op PAWSIBLE?
JJ Bear is on a top-secret worldwide journey to raise awareness and funds for veterans in the justice system.
It all started with the Changing Tides Row, where Sean and Jonny completed a 3,200-mile Atlantic crossing to raise funds and awareness for Care after Combat and Samaritans. JJ Bear was their companion on that incredible 58-day journey, and the response was extraordinary.
Now he’s entering Phase Two: a global, community-driven campaign that relies on you.
Here’s how it works:
- To start, you’ll need a JJ Bear. If you don’t have a JJ Bear, you can purchase him from our online shop.
- Then, you take JJ on an adventure anywhere in the world. You could scale mountains, visit landmarks, or walk to your local park. (feel free to be creative).
- Capture the moment with a photo or video and share it on social media with the hashtag #OpPAWSIBLE and tag @CareAfterCombat.
- Your photo becomes part of a global gallery of adventures, inspiring others to join in.
Every purchase directly supports veterans in the justice system.
Why This Campaign Matters
Many veterans face enormous challenges transitioning from military to civilian life. For some, that transition includes involvement with the justice system, and without proper support, the cycle can repeat.
However, it doesn’t have to be like that.
Through mentorship and practical support, Care after Combat has reduced the reoffending rates of the veterans we have worked with to just one-fifth of the national average. With consistent support, these veterans have been able to change their lives and find a renewed sense of purpose.
The aim of Op PAWSIBLE is to raise awareness around the challenges that veterans in the justice system face, as this awareness is the first step to fostering real change in how institutions and communities support both veterans who are leaving the military and veterans who are in the justice system. Alongside this, the funds from each JJ Bear purchased will go towards the work we do with veterans: providing peer mentorship, holding monthly forums in prison, and maintaining our 24/7 helpline.
