Armed Forces Week 2026: Celebrating Service in All Its Forms

Home 9 News 9 Armed Forces Week 2026: Celebrating Service in All Its Forms

This week, across the country, communities are coming together to recognise and thank those who serve and have served. It’s a time of public appreciation and connection, and at Care after Combat, we’re celebrating right alongside everyone else.

What Is Armed Forces Week?

Armed Forces Week (and Armed Forces Day, which takes place on the last Saturday of June each year) is a national celebration of everyone who is, was, or supports a member of the armed forces.

For many communities, this is a valuable opportunity to see the breadth of service up close, from the Royal Navy and Army to the RAF and reserve forces, alongside the families and support networks behind them.

The week provides an important platform: it brings military service into public conversation, raises awareness, and creates space for celebration and recognition. It’s a week where the armed forces are front and centre in our national consciousness, and that visibility is precious.

What We See In Veterans Every Day

At Care after Combat, we’re privileged to work alongside veterans every day. Through that work, we’re often reminded of the qualities that military service develops: resilience, determination, loyalty, and the ability to keep moving forward in the face of adversity.

Many of the veterans we support have faced significant challenges. Yet, time and time again, we see individuals draw upon the same strengths that served them during their military careers to overcome those obstacles.

When veterans receive understanding, practical support, and encouragement, incredible things can happen. We see people rebuild their confidence, reconnect with their families, find purpose, secure employment, and move towards brighter futures.

Every day, we see proof that a person’s circumstances do not define their future. With the right support, veterans can build on the strengths they developed during their service and achieve lasting positive change. We’re proud to stand alongside them on their journey.

Beyond Armed Forces Week 2026

Armed Forces Week is a moment of celebration and public appreciation. It’s also an opportunity to think more broadly about how we support those who’ve served.

This Armed Forces Week, let’s celebrate the dedication of those who serve and have served. And let’s remember that support matters long after the celebrations end. By standing alongside veterans throughout the year, we can help ensure that no one faces challenges alone.
