The Mablethorpe business community has shown extraordinary support for our mission of supporting veterans in the justice system, raising an impressive £1,700 through a competitive Business Bowling Team Challenge held throughout March.
Over four evenings of friendly rivalry, 11 local businesses battled it out on the lanes at The Mirage, with the grand final taking place on Tuesday, 10th March.
It was Team Dynamica who emerged victorious, taking home the gold trophy, whilst The Stables claimed silver in a closely fought competition.
A Community Effort
The tournament brought together a fantastic array of Mablethorpe businesses, each fielding teams determined to strike for a good cause. The 11 competing teams were:
- The Blitz Tea Room
- The Dunes Complex
- The Hungry Seahorse
- Dynamica, Just Pudding Basins
- The Victoria Guest House
- The Stables
- Jacksons Amusements,
- Jamie, Edmond, Scott and Happy Holidays,
- Radio Mablethorpe
- The Cartwheel
Kindly hosted by The Mirage, the event was supported by a plethora of local businesses who contributed to making the challenge a resounding success.
Special recognition goes to Paddy from The Dunes and author Neil Obbard and his wife Tina for their significant contributions to organising the event. The Blitz Tea Room also played a key role in coordinating the challenge, and Jayney deserves particular thanks for her amazing raffle ticket-selling efforts that helped boost the total raised.
What the Funds Will Support
The £1,700 raised will directly support Care after Combat’s vital work with veterans in and after the justice system.
These funds will help provide one-to-one mentorship to veterans in the justice system and run peer support group meetings where the veterans can connect with others who understand their experiences.
It will also contribute towards the maintenance of our 24/7 helpline for veterans in crisis, and ensure ongoing support for as long as veterans need us.
For many of the veterans we support, having this consistent support makes the difference between successful reintegration and falling back into crisis. Community fundraising events like this bowling challenge help provide the resources that allow us to be there for veterans when they need us most.
Thank You, Mablethorpe
From everyone at Care after Combat, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to every person and business who made this event possible. Thank you to The Mirage for hosting all four nights and providing such a brilliant venue, and to Paddy, Neil, Tina, The Blitz Tea Room, and Jayney for the countless hours of organisation that made this tournament run smoothly.
And of course, to all of the 11 competing teams, thank you for your enthusiasm and commitment to supporting veterans.
The £1,700 you’ve raised will change lives. Veterans rebuilding after the justice system will receive the support they need because of what you achieved together, and we couldn’t be more grateful for your support.
