National Lottery Communities Fund

Care after Combat is pleased to announce that we have been awarded funding from the National Lottery Communities Fund.

Through lessons learned so far during the Covid19 pandemic, the very successful Remote Support Service that Care after Combat has developed through a pathfinder project, known as Bowman, will now be rolled out in all operating regions. This will enable us to reach more veterans and support them through the continuing lockdown within prisons. Veterans released from prison during the pandemic have found services harder to access; Care after Combat mentors assist remotely by providing bespoke release packages to ensure each veteran has the necessary assistance to make a successful transition from prison into the community.

CEO of Care after Combat, Adrian Kirk said: “This award is fantastic news for everyone involved with Care after Combat. We are truly grateful for the support provided by the National Lottery Communities Fund and the players of the National Lottery for their support which will allow us to expand our much needed Remote Support Service. The pandemic has exacerbated the impact of isolation for our veterans within prison and this service is needed now more than ever.”
