Home 9 Op PAWSIBLE

JJ Bear is embarking on a top-secret worldwide journey to raise awareness and funds for veterans in the justice system, and you’re invited to be a part of it!

Take JJ on an adventure and share it with the world, all to support veterans in need.

What is Op PAWSIBLE?

JJ Bear has a mission, and it’s a BIG one. Op PAWSIBLE is a global adventure raising funds to support veterans in the justice system through Care After Combat.

Around the world, veterans face unique challenges when transitioning from military service back into civilian life. Many find themselves navigating the justice system without the support they need. Op PAWSIBLE exists not only to show that change is possible, but also to help us create that change for the veterans we support.

Op PAWSIBLE began with a bold challenge: Sean Phelps and Jonny Towers set out to row 3,200 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, and JJ Bear came along for the ride. After 58 days at sea, they reached Antigua and proved that extraordinary things are possible when we come together for a cause we care deeply about.

Phase Two is where you come in. JJ Bear is continuing to travel the world, and we’re inviting you to take JJ on adventures too. Whether you’re at home, at work, exploring your local community, or travelling to somewhere new, JJ can go with you.

Why It Matters

Every day, veterans across the world face the challenge of transitioning from military service to civilian life. For many, this transition is smooth, and they happily settle in, but for others, it’s isolating and difficult. Some find themselves in the justice system without anyone to help them rebuild.

The veterans we support through Care after Combat show incredible strength and resilience. With mentorship and practical support, they’re rebuilding their lives and becoming the version of themselves they want to be. Our work has reduced reoffending rates to just one-fifth of the national average—proof that when veterans receive consistent support, they thrive.

But our impact doesn’t stop at the individuals we work with. Op PAWSIBLE is about raising global awareness, showing the world that when veterans in the justice system are given the right support and are surrounded by people who have faith in them, amazing things can happen. Change is possible for individual veterans and for the systems that need to evolve to better serve them.
